The Silicone Molding / Urethane Casting Process
The process starts with producing a “Master” pattern usually with a SLA Model. Sanding and texturing prepare the patterns surfaces, and then is encapsulated in silicone rubber (RTV). This silicone mold is then used to produce the urethane castings.
Limited Production Runs are practical and cost effective using urethane castings. You can produce from 1 to 100 parts in materials that simulate production plastics at low cost and minimal investment.
